Gram Flour - 1 1/2 cup
Red Chilly - 5
Garlic - 6
Cumin Seeds - 1 t spoon
Salt as needed

Valakkai / Raw Banana - 1
Onion - 1
Brinjal - 1
Cauliflower
Pappad / Appalam

Grind garlic, red chilly and cumin to a fine paste.

Mix this paste with unfermented idly dough, gram flour and required salt into a semi thick batter.

Add required water and mix so that we get a lump free batter.

      Our BAJJI batter is ready.
We can make many varieties of bajji using this batter.
Some of the options are plantain or raw banana, onion, bajji chilly, cauliflower, appalam and brinjal.
Peel off the skin and slice the plantain into thin strips.
Wash and slice onion and brinjal.
Cut and clean the cauliflower florets.
      Now our veggies are ready.

Dip the veggies one by one into the batter on both sides and dip in hot oil slowly.

Stir and deep fry the bajji until they become crispy and golden brown.
Remove the bajji in a tissue paper so that the excess oil gets absorbed.
Enjoy variety of bajjis with tomato chutney or coconut chutney and a hot coffee!
