MILK BUN/ SWEET BUN

MILK BUN
 Ingredients:
Active Dry Yeast - 1/2 t spoon
Milk - 60 ml
Sugar - 1/2 t spoon+ 2 tbl spoon
Salt - 1 pinch
Butter - 2 tbl spoon
Egg - 1
Maida - 130 gm



      In a mixing bowl mix lukewarm milk with dry yeast, 1/2 t spoon sugar and keep it aside.



      After 5 to 10 minutes, the yeast milk becomes frothy.


      Now add the yeast milk along with butter, 2 tbl spoon sugar, salt, egg to maida and kneed well.



      Add extra maida if needed and male a soft dough.
      Cover with a wet towel and keep it aside until the dough raises more than 1/2. It with take 2 to 3 hours.
      Once the dough raises, kneed it again and make into small balls.



      Place the balls in a baking tray, greased with little ghee. Apply some butter above the balls.
      Cover it with a cloth and wait for another 1/2 an hour, so that the balls raises again.


      Now bake the buns in a preheated oven at 175 degrees for 25 minutes or until slightly browned.


      Apply some butter above the buns when it is still hot.
      Once cooled remove the buns and store in air tight container.


      Enjoy soft bun with hot coffee.



NOTE:

      We can stuff jam or cheese in the centre of the dough balls and bake to get jam bun or cheese buns.
