ONION 🧅 CHUTNEY WITHOUT TOMATO

 ONION CHUTNEY 

Ingredients:
Onion - 1
Garlic - 10
Oil - 5 t spoon 
Chenna Dal - 3/4 t spoon 
Urad Dal - 3/4 t spoon 
Salt as needed 
Red Chilly - 4
Kashmiri Red Chilly - 3
Ginger - 1/2 inch piece 
Mustard Seeds - 1/2 seeds 
Asafoetida - 1 pinch 
Tamarind - 1/4 lemon sized


      Heat 1 t spoon oil and fry chenna dal, urad dal, red chilly, kashmiri chilly in low flame until golden.



      Transfer to the mixi jar.
      Add 1 t spoon oil and add chopped onion, garlic, ginger and sauté until lightly browned.


      Now transfer the onion to the mixi cup.


      Add asafoetida, salt, tamarind and grind to a semi fine paste.
      Add little water if needed.


      Now in a pan, add 4 t spoon oil, mustard seeds and wait until it splutters.
      Now add the chutney and cook for 3 minutes.


      Switch off the flame and transfer the chutney to a bowl.


      Enjoy spicy onion chutney with idly or dosa.
