AVAL PAYASAM/ POHA PAYASAM

AVAL PAYASAM 

Ingredients:
 Aval - 1/2 cup
Brown Sugar / Jaggery - 1/4 cup
Water - 1/4 cup
Milk - 1 1/2 cup
Cashew nut - 5
Cardamom - 1
Ghee - 1 tbl spoon 


      Fry cashews in ghee until golden and keep aside.
      Roast aval in ghee in low flame until crisp.
      Mix sugar with water and heat until it gets dissolved.
      Filter the brown sugar water and keep aside.



      Boil milk in a pan.
      Add the roasted aval and cook in low flame for 10 minutes or until the poha gets cooked soft.


      Now add cardamom and sugar syrup and mix well.


      Switch off the flame immediately and garnish with fried cashews.


      Enjoy aval payasam after it gets cooled.
