AVAL KESARI
Aval/ Poha - 1/2 cup
Sugar - 1/2 cup
Cardamom - 1
Water - 2 cups
Almond - 4
Raisins - 4
Ghee - 4 tbl spoon
Sugar - 1/2 cup
Cardamom - 1
Water - 2 cups
Almond - 4
Raisins - 4
Ghee - 4 tbl spoon
Roast the almonds and raisins in ghee and keep aside.
Dry roast poha in low flame for 3 minutes.
Grind to a coarse powder.
Add 2 tbl spoon ghee and fry the ground poha powder for a minute.
Now add water and allow to boil.
Once the poha reaches porridge consistency, add sugar, 2 tbl spoon ghee and mix well.
The Kesari becomes watery after adding sugar.
Mix well in low flame until it becomes little thick.
Add a pinch of Kesari food colour and mix well.
Switch off the flame and garnish with fried almonds and raisins.
Enjoy aval Kesari when it is warm.
