 KUMBAKONAM KADAPPA

Ingredients:
Potato - 1
Moong Dal - 3 tbl spoon 
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 t spoon 
Coconut Oil - 1 tbl spoon 
Mustard Seeds - 1/2 t spoon 
Cloves - 1
Biriyani Leaf - 1
Cinnamon Stick - 1
Onion - 1
Tomato - 1
Green Chilly - 1
To Grind:
Coconut - 2 tbl spoon 
Porikadalai / roasted gram Dal - 1 t spoon 
Fennel Seeds - 1 /2 t spoon 
Green Chilly - 1


      Grind together coconut, green chilly, porikadalai, fennel seeds with little water to a fine paste.
      Pressure cook moong dal and potato for 4 whistles separately and keep aside.



      Heat oil in a pan and fry mustard seeds, cinnamon stick, cloves, biriyani leaf.


      Add chopped onion, slit green chilly and ginger garlic paste and sauté for 5 minutes.


      Add chopped tomato and mix well.
      Now add lightly mashed potato, turmeric powder, salt, 1/4 cup water and allow it to boil.


      Add ground coconut paste, cooked moong dal and boil for 5 minutes.


      Switch off the flame and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.


      Enjoy Kumbakonam KADAPPA with dosa or chappathi.
