BUTTERMILK BISCUITS
Ingredients:
Buttermilk - 3/4 cup
Maida - 2 cups
Baking Soda - 1/4 t spoon
Baking Powder - 1/4 t spoon
Salt - 1 /4 t spoon
Sugar - 1 tbl spoon
Butter - 1/2 cup
Freeze the butter until use.
Grind 2 tbl spoon curd with water and make 3/4 cup buttermilk and refrigerate.
Take maida, baking powder, baking soda, salt, sugar in a mixer and pulse for 1 minute.
Add freeze butter and grind again.
Transfer the contents to a mixing bowl and add chilled buttermilk.
Kneed to a soft dough. Do not over kneed.
Make the dough to a rectangle log and fold both sides towards centre.
Again pat to a rectangle and repeat the same 3 or 4 times.
The rectangle must be at least 1/2 inch thick.
Press using a cookie cutter and place the cookies in a baking tray.
Bake the biscuits in a preheated oven at 230 degrees for 20 minutes or until the top gets lightly browned.
Remove the biscuits and allow to cool.
Enjoy flaky buttermilk biscuits with a cup of tea.
