VALAKKAI VARUVAL / RAW BANANA CRISPY FRY

VALAKKAI VARUVAL

Ingredients:
 Valakkai / Raw banana - 1
Oil - 3 tbl spoon 
Mustard Seeds - 1/2 t spoon 
Turmeric Powder - 1/ 4 t spoon 
Chilly Powder - 1 t spoon 
Coriander Powder - 1 tbl spoon 
Garam Masala - 1/2 t spoon 
Salt as needed 
Asafoetida - 1 pinch 
To Grind :
Garlic - 6
Fennel Seeds - 1/2 t spoon 
Curry Leaves - 1 spring 


      Cut raw banana into desired sized pieces.
      Grind together garlic, fennel seeds, curry leaves to a course powder.
      Take oil in a pan and fry the banana in 2 batches until 1/2 cooked.




      Take 1 tbl spoon oil in a pan and fry mustard seeds, ground garlic powder.


      Add chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt, garam masala powder and fry for a minute in a low flame.


      Add the fried raw banana and sauté in low flame until the masala gets coated well and the banana turns crispy.




      Switch off the flame and have have valakkai VARUVAL with rice.
