MOONG DAL PAYASAM
Ingredients:Moong Dal/ Pasi Paruppu - 1/4 cup
Water - 1 cup
Brown Sugar/ Naatu Sarkarai - 1/4 cup
Cardamom - 1
Ghee - 1 tbl spoon
Cashew nut - 5
Raisins - 5
Thick Coconut Milk - 1/4 cup
Dry roast moong dal in low flame in a pressure cooker until it turns aromatic.
Add water and pressure cook for 4 whistles in low flame.
Once the pressure releases, open the cooker and mash the dal lightly.
Add jaggery and crushed cardamom seeds and mix well in low flame.
Add coconut milk and mix well.
Allow it to boil in low flame for 2 minutes and turn off.
Add ghee in a pan and roast cashews and raisins until golden.
Add to the payasam and mix well.
Enjoy paruppu payasam as such or store in refrigerator if using later.
