NETHILI FISH THOKKU
Ingredients:Nethili Fish - 1/4 kg
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 t spoon
Salt as needed
Coconut Oil - 2 tbl spoon
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 t spoon
Cumin Seeds - 1/4 t spoon
Onion - 1
Tomato - 1
Garlic - 5
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 t spoon
Curry Leaves - 1 spring
Coriander Leaves
Green Chilly - 1
Chilly Powder - 1 t spoon
Coriander Powder - 1 1/2 t spoon
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and allow to splutter.
Add cumin seeds, curry leaves, chopped garlic, slitted green chilly and fry for a minute.
Now add chopped onion and fry until golden.
Add ginger garlic paste and sauté well.
Grind the tomato and a mix well. Add turmeric powder, chilly powder, coriander powder and cook in low flame until the masala gets cooked well.
Add 1/2 cup water and allow to boil.
Mix together nethili fish with 1/4 t spoon salt and turmeric powder, deep fry them for 4 minutes turning in between.
This will prevent the fish from breaking.
Now drain the fish and add in the gravy.
Add chopped coriander leaves and mix gently without breaking the fish.
Simmer simmer for 5 minutes until the gravy blends well with the fish.
Switch off the flame and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
