SARKARAI PONGAL/ SWEET PONGAL

SWEET PONGAL 

Ingredients:
Raw Rice / Pacharisi - 100 gm or 1 tumbler
Moong Dal - 30 gm
 Jaggery / Achu Vellam - 2 tumbler
Ghee - 5 tbl spoon 
Cardamom - 2
Cashew nut - 10
Raisins - 5
Milk - 1/4 cup


      Wash rice, moong dal add milk, 1 tbl spoon ghee, 4 tumbler water and pressure cook for 4 whistles in low flame.



      Use the same tumbler which we used to measure rice.
      Measure 2 tumbler jaggery and boil with 1/2 cup water.
      Once the jaggery gets completely melted, strain in a tea filter.




      Once pressure releases, open the cooker and add 2 tbl spoon ghee, filtered jaggery and cook in low flame until the rice and jaggery blends well.



      Fry cardamom, cashews, raisins in remaining 2 tbl spoon ghee until golden and add to the sweet Pongal and mix well.


      Enjoy sweet Pongal when it is hot.
