VARAGU RICE VEGETABLE BIRIYANI /KODO MILLET BIRIYANI

VARAGU ARISI BIRIYANI 

Ingredients:
Varagu Rice - 1 cup
Oil - 2 tbl spoon 
Ghee - 2 tbl spoon 
Salt as needed 
Cloves - 2
Cinnamon Stick - 1
Biriyani Leaf - 1
Cardamom - 2
Onion - 1
Ginger garlic paste - 1tbl spoon 
Tomato - 1
Carrot - 2
Beans - 5
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 t spoon 
Chilly Powder - 1 t spoon 
Coriander Powder - 1 t spoon 
Garam Masala - 1/2 t spoon 
Coriander Leaves - 2 tbl spoon chopped 
Water - 2 1/2 cup


      Wash and soak varagu rice and keep aside.



      Heat oil, ghee in a pan and fry cinnamon stick, cardamom, cloves, cardamom, biriyani leaf.


      Add chopped onion and fry until golden.
      Add ginger garlic paste and sauté until raw smell leaves.


      Add tomato, salt, turmeric powder, chilly powder, coriander powder, garam masala, coriander leaves and mix well.
      Add chopped carrot, beans and cook for 5 minutes in low flame.


      Now add 2 1/2 cup water and allow to boil.


      Now add rice and cook in low flame until rice and the veggies gets mixed well.



      Now place the pan above a hot dosa tawa, close the pan with a lid and place a heavy weight above the pan.
     Simmer for 20 minutes and switch off the flame.


     Enjoy varagu rice biriyani with raita and chips.
