VALATHANDU SOUP/ BANANA STEM SOUP

VALATHANDU SOUP

Ingredients:
Valatandu / Banana Stem - 1
Pepper - 1/2 t spoon 
Cumin Seeds - 1 t spoon 
Salt as needed 
Garlic - 4
Ginger - 1 small piece 
Small Onion - 4
Coriander Leaves - 1 t spoon 
Tomato - 1 small
Turmeric Powder - 1 pinch 


      Remove the outer cover and cut the valathandu into slices.
      Remove small thread and cut into pieces.  


      Add chopped valathandu, onion, garlic, ginger, turmeric powder, salt in a pressure cooker.
      Grind pepper, cumin coursely in a mixer and add to the cooker.


      Add 1 cup water and pressure cook for 5 whistles in low flame.



      Once the pressure releases grind the cooked valaithandu in a mixer.


      Filter in a strainer and add chopped coriander leaves.




      Sprinkle pepper powder and enjoy valathandu soup.
