BLACK RICE PUTTU / KARUPPU KAVUNI PUTTU

KARUPPU KAVUNI PUTTU

Ingredients :
Black Rice / KARUPPU Kavuni Arisi - 1 cup
Salt as needed 
Coconut grated - 3 tbl spoon 
Sugar - 1 t spoon 


      Wash and soak rice overnight.


      Drain water and dry in a cloth in shade for a day.


      Grind the rice in a mixer to a fine powder.
      Dry roast the flour for 5 minutes in low flame.


      This flour can be stored in an airtight container for 2 months.


      Take flour, salt and mix well.
      Sprinkle water and mix until crumble.


      The flour must be able to hold its shape when held tightly.
      Fill a puttu maker with a layer of grated coconut, puttu flour alternatively.
      Keep the puttu maker above a cooker and steem it for 12 minutes.


       Enjoy KARUPPU kavuni puttu with sugar and ghee.
