INIPPU KOZHUKATTAI /PIDI KOLUKATTAI

SWEET  KOLUKATTAI

Ingredients:
Rice Flour _ 1 1/2 cup
Moong Dal _ 1/4 cup + 1 tbl spoon
Jaggery / Naatu Sarkarai _ 1 cup + 1 tbl spoon
Cardamom powder _ 1/4 t spoon
Grated Coconut _ 1/4 cup
Ghee _ 2 t spoon


      Add 1 cup water with moong dal and pressure cook for 3 whistles in low flame.
      Dry roast rice flour for 5 minutes and keep aside.


      Add 2 tbl spoon water to jaggery and boil until it dissolves completely.         Switch off the flame, add the grated coconut and mix well.


      Take the roasted rice flour in a mixing bowl and add cardamom, boiled moong dal, jaggery coconut mixture when it is hot.



      Mix well until all the ingredients are well combined.


      Kneed to a soft dough.


      Apply ghee in hand, make small ball out of the dough and hold to get impressions.


      Boil water in an idly cooker, place the kozhukattai in idly plate and steem for 10 minutes.

      Enjoy pidi kozhukattai when it is warm.
