DAL TADKA

Ingredients :
Toor Dal - 1/4 cup
Moong Dal - 1 tbl spoon 
Turmeric Powder - 1 pinch 
Salt as needed 
Oil - 1/2 t spoon 
Tadka 1:
Ghee - 1 t spoon 
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 t spoon 
Asafoetida - 1 pinch 
Garlic - 10
Ginger - 1 t spoon chopped 
Green Chilly - 1/2 
Red Chilly - 1
Onion - 1/2
Tomato - 1/2
Red Chilly Powder - 1/4 t spoon 
Coriander Powder - 1/2 t spoon 
Garam Masala - 1/4 t spoon 
Salt as needed 
Kasuri Methi - 1/2 t spoon 
Coriander Leaves - 2 tbl spoon chopped 
Tadka 2:
Ghee - 1 t spoon 
Cumin Seeds - 1/4 t spoon 
Garlic - 2
Chilly Powder - 1 pinch 
Coriander Leaves - 1 tbl spoon 


      Pressure cook toor Dal, moong dal, turmeric powder, salt, oil along with 1 cup water for 4 whistles in low flame.



      Heat a pan with ghee and add cumin seeds, asafoetida.
      Add chopped ginger, garlic, green chilly, red chilly and fry for a minute.



      Add chopped onion, tomato and sauté until golden.
      Add chilly powder, coriander powder, garam masala, salt, kasuri methi and sauté for a minute.


      Add cooked dal, coriander leaves along with 1/4 cup water.


      Allow it to boil and switch off the flame.


      Take a tadka pan and add 1 t spoon ghee.
      Allow cumin seeds to splutter, and add garlic, chilli powder, coriander leaves.
      Fry for a minute and add the tadka to the dal.



      Enjoy Dal tadka with rice or chappathi.
